Networking & Social Events

The Conway Center offers several enjoyable social interactions throughout the year that allow members to build strong relationships. We believe that some of the most productive experiences are created in less formal group settings where relationships can be built, ideas shared, and new opportunities hatched.

FAMILY BUSINESS SHOWCASE

The Conway Center hosts a variety of events to bring members together and build stronger connections between current and prospective members. A favorite event is the Family Business Showcase. Every year, family businesses host this event to share what has made their business successful, how they operate, and what their plans are for the future.

Our first scheduled Family Business Showcase this year will be at THREAD on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Founded in 2011 by Miranda Boyle, THREAD is a carefully curated lifestyle boutique that brings a big city mindset to the midwest fashion oasis of Columbus, Ohio. Miranda’s daughter, Hana Boyle, joined the company in 2022.

Hear Miranda's story of how her love of fashion and influences in her life evolved into owning THREAD, and how this family business has expanded, venturing into new sectors because of their growth.

This event is free to Conway Center members and those in our community interested in family business, but please RSVP. Mix and mingle with other family business leaders and enjoy hors d’ oeuvres, beer, wine and N/A beverages, while touring THREAD, THREAD Living, and Gifting by THREAD.

Golf Outing

John and Angela Petro are excited to invite you to the High Line Car House for the Together & Company Family Business Showcase. The Family Business Showcase, open to Central Ohio's family businesses and community leaders, offers an inside view of members organizations and the opportunity to hear from the families who run them. Together & Company, a full-service catering and events company, began in 1997 as Two Caterers and has grown to provide much more than box lunches. Hear the story of how Angela Petro and a friend kicked off their business by giving away coffee and menus at traffic lights - and grew to the complete hospitality company of today, going “all in” with John joining the business just six months before the onset of the Covid pandemic. The Petros brand of vulnerability in storytelling will remind us of the importance of building for the future while allowing ourselves the space to pivot as needed. Guests can expect the full hospitality treatment with hors d’ oeuvres, beer, wine and N/A beverages and tours of the recently renovated High Line Car House, including insights on the historic 1870’s building they call home. ... read more
