Programs

The Conway Center for Family Business provides highly relevant, topical and original programming that helps members learn, stay informed and share experiences with their peers. These family-focused educational programs are unique to the Center and cannot be found anywhere else in Central Ohio.

In addition, we offer enjoyable social interactions that allow members to build strong relationships. We believe that some of the most productive experiences are created in less formal, group settings where relationships can be built, ideas shared and new opportunities hatched.

Just some of these activities include our annual Family Business Awards & Expo, Monthly Educational Programs, numerous group Educational Opportunities, and Networking and Social Events, Please explore our Events Calendar below for topics that will help you solve your family business challenges.

The Three Circle Model, developed by Renato Tagiuri and John Davis at Harvard Business School, explains how family businesses operate through three interconnected systems: 1. Family: Blood relations and spouses 2. Business: The company's operations and management 3. Ownership: Shareholders/stakeholders who own the business The model illustrates seven possible positions where individuals can exist, from being solely in one circle (family member only, employee only, or investor only) to occupying overlapping positions (family member-owner, family member-employee, owner-employee) or all three simultaneously. This framework helps identify sources of conflict, roles, priorities, and relationships within family businesses, making it useful for strategic planning and conflict resolution. Panelists: Alison Marker, President + CEO, Marker, Inc. Ben Tarrier, President, Tarrier Steel Company Facilitated by Ryan Yeoman, Professional Implementer, EOS WorldWide ... read more
