The Wiki definition of Founder’s Syndrome is: "The difficulty faced by organizations where one or more founders maintain disproportionate power and influence following the effective initial establishment of the organization, leading to a wide range of problems."
Our panelists will have a frank discussion about what happens in a family business when founders won’t let go or allow the next gen to lead. We’ll also discuss what to do when the Next Gen isn’t ready or able to lead or when there is no next gen to transition the business to. These may seem like different problems, but they all impact the future, vision, direction, and succession planning a family-owned business can face.
