Kimmi Wernli is the first female owner at one of the oldest natural food companies in America – Crazy Richard’s. As a second-generation owner, Kimmi took over the business from her father in 2015 and was insistent that Crazy Richard’s was more than ‘just a peanut butter company'. She re-positioned the company into the 21st century by rebranding, tapping into a savvy social media audience and forward thinking product innovation. Her leadership style and fortitude has helped increase annual revenue by 20 percent!
We will have an informative question and answer session to learn about the journey of Crazy Richards and Kimmi, and the transformation and expansion of this company.
Kimmi has launched several new product lines and recently won a prestigious ‘Nexty Award’ for innovation in the Natural Foods industry. Kimmi is passionate about the environment and implemented sustainable practices that helped the company become B corporation certified. She also started a humanitarian initiative called the Healthy Kids Happy Future™ project that makes Crazy Richard’s premium products available to all families through service, donations, and intentional affordable prices.
Kimmi is also an active member of NAWBO National, sits on the board of directors for the American Peanut Council, is a US peanut ambassador with the National Peanut Board and is a president-elect for the BYUMS Central Ohio Chapter. Kimmi was awarded the Progressive Women Award, a NAWBO Visionary Award, and a Columbus 40 Under 40. Additionally, Crazy Richard’s has received a Smart 50 Award. Kimmi is a wife and mother of four children, former collegiate lacrosse player and lover of natural foods and all things peanut butter.
