Events Calendar - Family Business Programs in Columbus | Peer Groups and Education

Programs

The Conway Center for Family Business provides highly relevant, topical and original programming that helps members learn, stay informed and share experiences with their peers. These family-focused educational programs are unique to the Center and cannot be found anywhere else in Central Ohio.

In addition, we offer enjoyable social interactions that allow members to build strong relationships. We believe that some of the most productive experiences are created in less formal, group settings where relationships can be built, ideas shared and new opportunities hatched.

Just some of these activities include our annual Family Business Awards & Expo, Monthly Educational Programs, numerous group Educational Opportunities, and Networking and Social Events, Please explore our Events Calendar below for topics that will help you solve your family business challenges.

A THREAD of Hope is a fun and amazing evening full of live music, a THREAD fashion presentation, delicious light bites & drinks, and both a live & silent auction. By supporting A THREAD of Hope, you help support Sam’s Fans’ mission to support and enhance music and art therapy programs that serve seriously ill children and their families in Columbus and beyond. Sam’s Fans is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organizatio. Sam, born in 1998, was diagnosed with Fanconi Anemia (FA), an inherited anemia that leads to bone marrow failure, when she was in the first grade. She underwent a bone marrow transplant at just ten years old. Following her transplant, Sam spent much of the next fourteen months in the hospital. Throughout this difficult and isolating experience, one bright spot for Sam was the music therapist who would visit with her and could bring a small bit of normalcy and beauty to her days through music. It allowed her to better express her emotions, relieved stress, and was often the highlight of her day. In her memory, Sam’s Fans raises money to help provide art and music therapy for seriously ill children and their families. Despite her courageous battle, Samantha McCarthy passed away on October 15, 2009 at the age of eleven. In 2015, to honor Sam’s life and legacy, her parents Nikki & Dan McCarthy founded Sam’s Fans with the mission of providing therapeutic music and art interventions to children with life-threatening illnesses. ... read more
